Studying Abroad at SDSU: An Overview
San Diego State University has a deep commitment to the educational enrichment of its undergraduate
students and aims to “create a genuinely global university.” The University Honors Program is dedicated to serving the international interests of the university and the nation, and to preparing its students for the global challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century. International education and international exchanges are fundamental aspects of this academic commitment.
San Diego State University offers a range of educational opportunities that begin with foreign language instruction and area studies programs and extend to numerous study abroad opportunities.
Currently, SDSU offers over 190 study abroad programs in 44 different countries including programs for foreign language instruction and area studies.
Because of the breadth of opportunities, SDSU ranks second in the nation among universities of its type for students studying abroad in the latest "Open Doors" report by the Institute for International Education. Students may choose from short-term study tours, to summer abroad programs, to semester-long and year-long exchanges.
