
Dr. Chris Frost, SDSU Instructor of Record for the program, is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Professor of Religious Studies. Dr. Frost completed his M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychological and Interdisciplinary Studies at Boston University, where he studied under psychologist-philosopher Sigmund Koch and Elie Wiesel, Mellon Professor in the Humanities and Nobel Laureate. At Texas State University, he served as Professor of Psychology, Director of the Texas State in England program, and Director of the University's Honors Program. A Fulbright Scholar and Senior Lecturer (Bucharest, Romania, 1996) and International Lecturer (Ifrane, Morocco, 1998), Dr. Frost has written books and numerous articles that cross both disciplinary and cultural boundaries. His books include: Religious Melancholy or Psychological Depression? (1985); Simone Weil: On Politics, Religion and Society (1998; coauthored); and Moral Cruelty: Ameaning and the Justification of Harm (2004; coauthored). Dr. Frost is also the recipient of numerous teaching awards, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Alumni Association Teaching Award of Honor, and statewide designation as a Piper Professor (Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation).
Dr. Steve Beebe, Texas State University Instructor of Record for the Program, is Chair of the Department of Communication Studies and Associate Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication. Dr. Beebe is the author and co-author of eleven books, several book chapters, and has published in several national and international communication journals. He has been a visiting scholar at both Oxford and Cambridge universities. Dr. Beebe was named Outstanding Communication Professor in America by the National Speaker's Association, and has received the President's Award of Excellence in Research and the President's Award for Excellence in Service at Texas State.
Dr. Tim Hulsey, Virginia Commonwealth University Instructor of Record for the Program, is Dean of the Honors College and Associate Professor of Psychology. Dr. Hulsey received his B.A. in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, his M.A. In Clinical Psychology from Trinity University and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Hulsey has published numerous articles in scholarly journals and published a book entitled Moral Cruelty: Ameaning and the Justification of Harm (2004; co-authored). He has received several teaching and research awards, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching from Texas State University, the Fellowship Award of the American Psychoanalytic Association and Who's Who Among American University and College Teachers.
