
The Summer Study in Estonia Program for Summer 2007 begins July 1 and ends July 21, a three week program. The Summer Study in Estonia Program is being offered through the College of Extended Studies.
The program is open to all SDSU students in good academic standing.
The Summer Study in Estonia Program will be under the direction of Dr. Allen Greb, Coordinator of the ISCOR program at SDSU. Dr. Stacey Sinclair, Director of the University Honors Program, and Dr. Gerald Monk, Professor, Department of Counseling and School Counseling, will also teach for the program.
All participants will enroll in three units of SDSU coursework in either ISCOR 450 (for ISCOR majors)OR three units in General Studies 450 (for non-ISCOR majors).
ISCOR 450. Study abroad in Estonia (3 units)
The International Security and Conflict Resolution program is an interdisciplinary program leading to a BA degree in liberal arts and sciences. All majors in the ISCOR program are required to participate in an approved study abroad experience. This class meets this need. In addition, the course meets three units of upper division elective requirements for the ISCOR major. In this course, students will develop greater understanding of international relations and security issues as these relate to the Baltic States and learn more about European integration in the Baltic States.
General Studies 450. Study abroad in Estonia: Advancing global engagement (3 units)
General Studies courses are not part of a regular departmental curriculum. They provide students with opportunities for achieving academic credit through interdisciplinary and nontraditional coursework. This class fulfills upper division GE Explorations, Humanities Section. In this course, students will develop greater understanding of international relations and security issues as these relate to the Baltic States and learn more about European integration in the Baltic States.
The host university for this program is the University of Tartu, Estonia's premier institution.
