Costs

SDSU Program Costs

The SDSU program cost (payable to SDSU) is $846, and covers: the three-unit General Studies 450 course.

University of Tartu Costs

The University of Tartu program cost is $1750 (payable to ISCOR Student Society) and covers:

  • Housing expenses in Estonia
  • Some meals
  • Transportation expenses (excluding airfare to and from Estonia)
  • Cultural Program in Estonia
  • Field-trip to Riga, Latvia (including 2 nights stay)
  • Field-trip to St. Petersburg, Russia (including 2 nights stay)

Additional costs not included in the above fee include: Airfare (approximately $1,000); Travel/ medical/accident/sickness insurance policy ($52); Meals (approximately $300), Books & supplies (Approximately $100); Passport ($97.00); Visa to Russia ($180) and personal shopping costs.

Payment Schedule and Required Forms

The following deadlines apply for payment purposes:

  • Friday March 23,2007 is the due date for application, a deposit of $500, unofficial transcripts, and two original passport photographs (Submit to the College of Extended Studies)
  • April 20, 2007 is the due date for University of Tartu costs
  • April 20, 2007 is the due date for booking airfare.
  • May 15, 2007 the SDSU tuition balance due. (Submit to the College of Extended Studies)
  • May 15, 2007 is the due date for submission of required medical, assumption of liability, personal conduct forms and proof of medical insurance

Financial Aid

Students who are enrolled in 6 SDSU units during the summer may be eligible for financial aid. For further information, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in SSW 3605, or call (619) 594-1632. If you have not yet applied for aid, you must do so in the Spring semester in order to be eligible for summer assistance.

In addition, the SDSU University Honors Programs is offering a limited number of scholarships to University Honors Program students in the amount of $1000. For information and application, please contact Dr. Stacey Sinclair, Director of the University Honors Program.

Refund Guidelines

Programs cancelled prior to departure due to insufficient enrollments, terrorism, and government advisories or questionable safety of an area provides 100% refunds. Participants who need to cancel must do so in writing to the Travel Study Office and are effective as per postmark date. A cancellation fee will be deducted from the funds as follows:

  • 60 days or more prior to start of program (20%)
  • Less than 60 days prior to start of program (40%)
  • Less than 30 days prior to start of program (60%)
  • There is no refund once the program has started
