Dr. Stacey Sinclair is involved in a diverse range of Honors activities including recruiting students, mentoring scholars, developing the Honors curriculum, and helping organize the growth and development of Honors as an integral part of SDSU. In collaboration with her colleagues, she has articulated ambitious plans and a coherent vision for the honors program, which she is always enthusiastic about sharing: "Within five years, our Honors Program will garner national prominence and be well on its way to a distinctive Honors College. To that end, we will nurture the rich learning environment and intensive student engagement traditionally associated with a small liberal arts college, within a context of the vast resources of a major urban research university-situated on the Pacific Rim.  Make no mistake: our students, including those from underrepresented groups, will be prepared for the global opportunities of the 21st Century, and they will make a difference in the world."

Dr. Sinclair possesses a distinctive blend of dynamic teaching, focused academic research, and administrative experience. She is the faculty advisor for the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society and sits on the Honors Council. Her research, publication, and teaching focus on social constructionist theory, discursive psychology, cultural studies, and conflict resolution. She has published numerous journal articles and book chapters on these topics and presents her work at the national and international level. Dr. Sinclair is co-author of the book New Horizons in Multicultural Counseling published by Sage in 2008.

Stacey comes from the east coast and came to SDSU after graduating with her Ph.D. in Counseling from The University of North Carolina in 2001. She received her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from James Madison University, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech, graduating Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Sinclair also teaches students in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology (CSP) at SDSU.

One of Stacey's primary interests is international travel. She has traveled extensively throughout the world.
