Problem, Need, or Opportunity

Students that want to study abroad have a lot to forms to fill and information to look up before they can start their semester at SDSU. I want to make a site that will help others like me to know as much as possible, and not having to look everything up for themselves. Internet is a great place for this to be done, this way I can link to different forms and places to get more information directly. The other two Norwegians in our class, Michelle and Øydis, will take care of what happens after you have arrived to San Diego. Our three sites will be linked in a way that others can easily see the connection between them.

Audience

The audience for this site is Norwegian students who want to apply to SDSU. The main audience is intended to be students from Bergen University College, since this is the school of my origin. The site will be in Norwegian because the audience is from Norway. What they know about applying to SDSU and their technical skills may vary, so I will try to make the site as clean and lucid as possible, since there are really a lot of forms to fill out.

User's Needs

· How to apply from the school of origin, Bergen University College

· How to get financial support from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund

· How to get a visa to enter the U.S.

Environment

Users of the site will not have to have a fast Internet connection, because there is not supposed to be any videos or music playing on the site. It is going to be easy manageable for everyone, and the audience should be able to look at the site from anywhere, without being dependent on plug-ins or sound.

Resources and Limitations

The text for my site is going to be written by me. Since I have just been through the same procedure as my potential audience I now know what I wish I would have known before my appliance to SDSU. The main purpose of the site will be to guide the students through the process, so that this can be an easier way of getting to SDSU. I will be linking to the forms they have to fill out in order to apply, and just commenting the forms. There will be no problems with copyrights.

General Solution

The site will be an easy manageable site for Norwegian exchange students in the process, that will help them through the jungle of forms and deadlines before arriving to SDSU.
