Core Courses
Required courses for all students within a particular major.
Cumulative GPA
Grade point average of all SDSU courses taken as a graduate student.
Disqualification
A student will be subject to disqualification from further attendance at the university, if at the end of the second semester
a student fails to earn sufficient grade points to warrant removal from probationary status.
Dissertation
Required of all doctoral students to exemplify mastery of the subject. Includes both a written document and a required
oral examination.
FERP Faculty
Faculty who are participating in the Faculty Early Retirement Program.
Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA)
Graduate students appointed to teach certain baccalaureate level courses depending on academic qualifications and
experience. GTA's are appointed and evaluated by each academic department, based on the candidate's probable success both as a
student and a teacher.
