Change of Status (Advancing from conditional to classified status)
When a student is admitted to a graduate program on a conditional basis, they are required to meet certain academic requirements by a specific time. The conditions and deadline are decided by the department. Once the student has completed said conditions, they must contact the graduate adviser to request a Change of Status form be sent to the Graduate Division.

Classified
A student who has met all conditions of admission to the graduate program is considered classified.

Commencement
Annual ceremony honoring students who have applied for graduation. Participation in commencement does not confirm the awarding of a degree.
Comprehensive Exam
An assessment of the student's ability to integrate the knowledge of the area and demonstrate mastery of degree subject matter. The comprehensive exam is administered and graded by the department, and is a requirement for all Plan B students.

Concurrent Masters Degree Credit
Undergraduate students in their last semester of baccalaureate study may take graduate level courses to be considered for future master's degree credit. Certain requirements must be met and appropriate paperwork must be filed prior to enrollment in any concurrent credit course.

Conditionally Classified Students
Students who are admitted to the masters program with conditions are considered conditionally classified. The student will need to complete the conditions specified by the department on or before the set deadline before they can be classified.
