SDSU Research Foundation
The San Diego State University Research Foundation coordinates and manages extramural support for the SDSU community and provides both pre and post award services. The Sponsored Research Development Office identifies and disseminates grant information as well as information about federal, state, and private funding sources. A database of faculty research interests allows the SDSU Research Foundation to match up grant opportunities with appropriate researchers. The Research Foundation provides program guidelines, application materials, and assists with budget preparation, negotiation of awards, completion of application forms and duplicating and mailing of proposals. All post-award services for research grants and contracts are provided through the SDSU Research Foundation's Sponsored Research Administration Office.
The Division of Research Affairs provides final approval of all SDSU research grant and contract proposals to federal, state, corporate, foundation and other private sponsors. The Division also provides direct consultation to faculty on various proposal development matters. During 2004-2005, San Diego State University faculty and staff submitted 1,102 proposals for external funding and the dollar amount of awards received from grants and contracts during this period totaled nearly $130,000,000.
