San Diego State University takes extreme care to ensure the safety of its students, faculty and staff. The San Diego State University Police Department has a force of 34 sworn police officers and 67 support staff. Whether on foot, behind the wheel of a patrol car, or patrolling on bicycle, they protect and serve the campus community and adjacent neighborhood 24 hours a day. The officers work in a diverse environment and take pride in delivering superior law enforcement services to the College Area Community.
Police Escort Service
SDSU Public Safety offers a free escort service to students from dusk until dawn to and from all parking and campus locations. Escort is generally provided by a Community Service Officer (CSO) or by a Police Officer. Members of the campus community requiring escort service may call (619) 594-6659 from a campus payphone, or use one of the emergency/duress telephones located around campus and in all parking lots.
