FAQ's for Current/Graduating Students

Current/Graduating Students

E. Will my diploma be forwarded if I move?

The U.S. Postal Service does not forward diplomas. If you fail to update your address via the web portal, and the diploma is sent to an old address, it will be returned to the Division of Graduate Affairs. Our office stores all returned diplomas. If your diploma has not arrived nine weeks from the last day of the semester, please call our office at (619) 594-5213 to check on the status of your diploma.

F. How will my name appear on the diploma?

Your name will appear on the diploma exactly as it appears on the university record. If you want a name change reflected on the diploma, you must officially change your name on record with the Office of the Registrar. Students who have a "unique" spelling of their name (tildes, hyphens, accent marks, etc.) should make note of this on the graduation application.

G. Will my degree concentration or specialization be listed on the diploma?

Concentrations and specializations are not included on the diploma, but are listed on the official transcript.

H. What if there is an error on my diploma?

If you believe there is an error on your diploma, please contact the Division of Graduate Affairs at (619) 594-5213. If our office has made an error in regards to your diploma we will replace it, free of charge.
