Welcome

Greetings! My name is Susi Goodman. I was born and raised in San Diego, and graduated from Mission Bay High School and SDSU with a degree in Spanish. Due to a rather uncontrollable adventurous spirit, and new opportunities available in the 70’s (before many of my fellow EDTEC classmates were born, which makes me an oldie but goodie!), I left the comfortable confines of Southern California and moved to Jackson, Wyoming for 3 years. Beautiful, beautiful place. Upon returning to college, I again ventured out into new experiences in Durham, New Hampshire (UNH), and IMNRC (Mexico City). I then became an airline employee, and finally started to get serious as a Human Resource professional. I earned a Professional Certificate in HR Management through UCSD Extension, where I work today as the Director of Business Programs for International students. It took awhile, but I finally found a great career fit.

A Master’s degree in Educational Technology serves many purposes for me. It fulfills a twenty year goal to return to grad school. It will allow me to retire from a day job eventually and continue to work through teaching and consulting. It will give me cutting edge skills and knowledge that I can use today, to reach more students on a global level. I’m truly excited about this opportunity.

I have two wonderful children, one of whom begins college at SDSU, in the Education Department along with Mom. (I’ve been instructed not to speak to her unless spoken to). My son is beginning his senior year at High Tech High, and will be off to college somewhere outside of San Diego, he assures me. I can’t quite fight that, as I’m afraid he got the itch from me.

Tim is the man in my life-a professional photographer and avid surfer. We love to travel, swim in the ocean, take “Bridgey girl” to dog beach, hike, and drink fabulous red Italian wine.

I have a wonderful extended family here in San Diego, where I plan to stay. Thanks for visiting!
