Using Putty

Download putty from here. Bes ure and scroll down to the poorly displayed site map and click on Download Putty. Then select the putty.exe file for your most versions of Windows.

Click on putty and go. A window like this shows up:

Note the machine name that needs to be entered "bulba.sdsu.edu". Note we'd like you to use port "2222" instead of the default "22".

"22" will work but it doesnt immediately dispatch you to one of the lab machines other than the server "bulba". We like to keep the load on "bulba" light.

The command from a unix machine is:

% ssh bulba.sdsu.edu -p 2222 If you do come in by port 22, please visit one of the other lab machines via another ssh comand, for example:

% ssh centaur
