Instructions for Downloading your own IPA Fonts

- Visit
the SAMPA Fonts Page.
- Download the self-extracting file link or the zipfile link
(depending on your taste) onto your local machine (desktop or
downloads area).
- Unzip the files, if you chose a zip file in Step 2. It's probably
best to to put them all into their own directory if you know how to do
this. Windows will recognize these files as zip files and you can
unzip them just by clicking on them.
- The following document will tell you how to install a font on
your Windows machine: here.
- After that you should be able to open word and us eth efont.
Select the font by pulling down the Format Menu, selecting font, and
then picking out your phonetic font. All the phonetic fonts names
start out: IPA-samd UCL Phon….
- This file
contains directions on what to type to get each symbol.
NOTE: This page will not display properly until you get the fonts installed.
But once you do it is very helpful in learning how to use them.
