FRENCH 200: Intermediate French in Paris                                        (3 units)
Development of proficiency skills at the intermediate level through work in small groups. Can be petitioned to satisfy the SDSU Foreign Language Graduation Requirement.

FRENCH 302 : Stylistics and Translation                                             (3 units)
Comparative stylistics of French and English, taught through translation. 
By special arrangement.
Satisfies GE requirement under Explorations IV;C  for non-French majors completing at least 60 units this semester. 

FRENCH 304 – Phonetics and Oral Proficiency                                  (3 units)
Phonetic theory, listening, intonation, and transcription practice, corrective phonetic and intonation exercises. Study of the varieties of Francophone oral expression.

FRENCH 305B - Introduction to Modern French Literature                 (3 units)
Introduction to the literature of 19th and 20th century France, to include poetry, prose, and theatre. Taught in French. Satisfies GE requirement under Explorations IV;C  for non-French majors completing at least 60 units this semester.     

FRENCH 400: Advanced French in Paris                                           (3 units)
Advanced grammar and stylistics through writing and speaking.

FRENCH 422: Contemporary France                                                 (3 units) 
Political, economic and social structures as well as artistic, intellectual and cultural trends. 

FRENCH 424 : French Film and Theory                                            (3 units)
Issues in Contemporary CUlture as represented through fulm.
Satisfies GE requirement under Explorations IV;C  and diversity for non-French majors completing at least 60 units this semester.   


FRENCH 520: French Theater                                                          (3 units)
Theater as performance genre, with special focus on producrtions currently playing in Paris.

French and European Studies 499:  Special Study                         (1-3 units)
Independent site-related projects. 
By arrangement with SDSU European Studies Faculty.
Other Independent Studies by arrangement with major departments.

  Final course offerings subject to change, based upon enrollment and demand.
