TEMPORARY CLUB CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE I NAME
The name of the organization shall be "Future Physical Educators", F.P.E.
ARTICLE II PURPOSE
The purpose of the organization shall be to proliferate Physical Education
as a whole and as a community, to foster the growth of prospective teachers,
to provide a means for group cohesion, and to mentor future professionals.
ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the organization shall be open to those regularly enrolled
San Diego State University Students who are pursuing an undergraduate or
graduate degree in Kinesiology or pursuing a teaching credential.

This organization will have associated members who are nonstudents or who
do not meet the above criteria but will have all membership privileges
except for the right to vote or hold office.

Eligibility for membership or appointed or elected student officer positions
in the campus-recognized chapter or group may not be limited on the basis
of race, sex, color, age, religion, national origin, marital status, sexual
orientation, physical or mental handicap, ancestry or medical condition,
except as explicitly exempted in federal law.

There shall not be any dues for membership in the organization.
ARTICLE IV OFFICERS

The office positions of this organization will initially consist of only
a President/Coordinator and a San Diego State University Faculty Consultant.

To be eligible for office, candidates must be regularly enrolled students
at San Diego State University.

Nominations for office shall occur annually and with the method of nomination
to be determined.

Elections shall occur during the beginning of the first month of the fall
semester through a standard ballot system.

The term of office shall be for one year and shall begin at the onset of
the fall semester and end at the conclusion of the spring semester.
ARTICLE V MEETINGS

Regular meetings of the organization shall be held monthly during the semester
at a site on the facilities of the Exercise and Nutritional Sciences Department.

Agendas for meetings shall be prepared by the San Diego State University
Faculty consultant/s and the President/Coordinator and shall be distributed
via E-mail two weeks prior to scheduled meetings.
ARTICLE VI POWERS

The organization shall have the following standing committees: none presently.

The Consultant/s and the President/Coordinator may create additional committees
and members to the committees shall be selected by means of nomination
from the above officers.

The organization shall operate as a non-profit association and no profits
may accrue to any individual within the organization.

Unless otherwise provided in these bylaws or the parliamentary authority,
decisions of the organization shall be made by a simple majority of those
present and voting, with those abstaining from the vote not figuring into
the determination of the majority required.

For purposes of any vote, the determination of the current eligible voting
membership shall be valid with current membership.
ARTICLE VII PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
The rules contained in the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order
Newly Revised shall govern the organization in all cases in which they
are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with the bylaws and
any special rules of order the organization may adopt.
ARTICLE VIII AMENDMENT OF BYLAWS
These bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the organization
by a two-thirds vote, provided that the amendment has been submitted in
writing at the previous regular meeting.
