The Fitness Clinic for Individuals with Disabilities is a community outreach program through the Department of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at San Diego State University.  Our clinic serves those from the San Diego region with a wide variety of physical challenges or disabilities and offers them the opportunity to reach their fitness and exercise goals.   We assist clients and develop management skills for disabilities that include: multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, post-CVA (stroke), brain injury, cerebral palsy, transverse myelitis, post-polio, spinal cord injury.  Clients' age has ranged from 12 to 87 years.

The clinic also serves as an educational experience for our students in the Kinesiology major.  Students, under the direct guidance and supervision of faculty and staff, work directly with our clients on a variety of exercises and activities.

Please navigate our site and visit the pages using the links in the left margin.  The site is interactive and offers several clippings, articles and web movies that discuss the depth of commitment that the Fitness Clinic has made to the San Diego community.  Hopefully, The Fitness Clinic can offer you, a friend or loved-one options that didn't previously exist.

Those students interested in volunteering  or intend to take ENS 388 can visit the course web site.
