Job Description
At Harrison – de Charon we have a great job opportunity available for someone who is looking for work experience in the financial planning industry.  We are looking for a part-time administrative assistant who will provide administrative support to all advisors and staff.  Responsibilities will include verifying securities transactions, preparing applications and other forms, managing client database, managing client communications, answering phones, and other clerical support.   The part-time administrative assistant will be expected to independently administer assigned responsibilities and ensure excellent client service.  The hours required for this position will be Monday through Friday 12 pm to 4 pm.  Pay starts at $10 per hour.

Requirements

  • Excellent work ethic and professional integrity
  • Bachelor’s degree or actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, financial services, or related field
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Effective multitasking and time management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Work experience in financial planning preferred

The internship program is designed for exceptional individuals that are committed to the entrepreneurial career path of a Financial Advisor.  This is a rigorous, 12-month program that will expose you to the systems and processes that successful advisors employ to develop their practice.    You will be required to attend weekly training, complete weekly and monthly reports, and be held accountable for your progress in the program.   A potential full-time advisor career opportunity may be presented to interns who exceed expectations and exhibit the traits of successful advisors.   • Setting account review appointments with existing Lincoln clients and managing the meeting logistics 
  • Providing support to advisors by prepping documents needed for annual reviews

  • Assist when needed with preparations for seminars or benefit fairs

Overland & Shanahan
The candidate will be involved in assisting two financial planners with all aspects of running/operating a financial planning office. The candidate will perform clerical/technical tasks and must have excellent typing and communication skills. Computer skills are necessary- specifically in Word, Excel and ACT. In addition, the candidate will work closely with planners in developing marketing plans, meeting with clients, developing financial plans and presenting plans to clients. At the conclusion of this opportunity, the candidate will have a very good idea of what daily life is like as an independent financial planner and should pick up valuable real world knowledge as a result.
