Brittany Erickson

I am currently a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Geological Sciences at San Diego State University.  I develop numerical methods for earthquake modeling, my passion stemming from my love for the natural world.

In 2010 I obtained my Ph.D. in mathematics from UC Santa Barbara under the guidance of professor Björn Birnir.  A mathematician at heart, I'm also interested in chaos theory, stochastic differential equations, computational science and numerical methods, and applied analysis.
