General Information for all sections

ENS 347B is the laboratory/activity portion of ENS 347.  It is conducted in either ENS 216, gymnasium (ENS 280), or a field setting.  Labs involve a variety of experiences related to developing generic instructional skills that are appropriate for providing leadership in diverse physical activity settings.  These experiences include observing & analyzing both live and videotaped instructional segments, providing demonstrations, managing learners & equipment, and implementing instructional strategies.

Professional activity attire is expected for ENS 347B. Please wear non-skid athletic shoes (no sandals) to all lab sessions. Do not wear outdoor footwear or hats. Failure to comply will result in a reduction in participation points (amount determined by individual lab instructor).

Materials submitted for evaluation should be typed, except for data forms and lesson plans.  They should be free from grammatical and spelling errors, not have ragged edges.

NOTES:

1.      All assignments are due in class on the day assigned.  Failure to turn in assignments will result in no credit being given for that assignment.

2.      Absences from labs are counted as no points for that lab and 4 participation points are lost.  If a student is absent on an assignment turn in date the assignment will only be accepted if accompanied by appropriate health or emergency documentation.  Excessive tardiness (not present at the start and end of class) will result in a loss of participation points and may result in a failing grade.  More than 2 absences will result in the loss of a full letter grade.

3.      Students who miss or are not prepared to perform Teach-in I or II on their scheduled date will forfeit 25% of the points possible.
