Learning Objectives:
After completion of this course, students should be
able to:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of statistical
techniques useful in education, clinical, or research
settings through calculation and
application of descriptive statistics.
2. Demonstrate the ability to select
appropriate validity techniques for a given situation.
3. Calculate validity and reliability
coefficients in a decision-making framework.
4. Collect and appropriately analyze data to
examine the validity of a physical activity measure.
5. Conduct item analysis for written tests.
6. Evaluate several grading plans as to their
objectivity and relevance.
7. Demonstrate an understanding of the
strengths and weaknesses of various fitness tests for
children and adults.

completed ENS 210 and a statistics course. Concurrent enrollment is not
acceptable.
Attendance: Regular attendance is
expected and critical to success in this course. If you will not be in class
please email me PRIOR to the class session.
Assignments: All assignments are due in
class on the day assigned. Failure to do so will result in no credit being
given for that assignment.
