The Department of English and Comparative Literature at SDSU, the flagship campus of the US’s largest and most diverse public university, seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in 20th and 21st century American literature, with secondary specializations in race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, literature and the environment, transnational studies, border studies, or media studies. Ph.D. in English or equivalent field expected by August 2011. Teaching load: 3 / 3, including undergraduate courses and graduate seminars in our large and distinguished MA and MFA programs.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. (degree expected by August 2011) in English or an equivalent field and demonstrate potential for excellence as a scholar-teacher, including successful teaching experience, currency within his or her field, and / or publication of scholarly research.
