SDSU English Club

The English Club is a student-sponsored organization intended to provide a forum in which students can come together for social and intellectual fellowship. The English Club strives to enhance and complement the educational mission of San Diego State University and the larger community by providing an environment conducive to intellectual inquiry. Our mission is thus to expose students to all manifestations of English material, whether it be classic, familiar, or altogether new. We encourage active participation in the various and exciting aspects of English through such forms of presentation and involvement as reading, writing, and lecture/workshops.

Our yearly activities include programs, speakers, and informational social gatherings, as well as coffeehouses excursions and trips to the local theater and museums. We also offer a yearly tribute to Banned Book Week, during which we sponsor a used book sale and a series of lecture events on censorship and book publishing, and sell our widely sought-after original tee-shirts.

Anyone with an interest in literature is welcome to join us.
