International Study Trip

An integral component of the EMBA program is to participate in an international study program, which is designed to allow students to gain an understanding of global business cultural practices and acquire direct international experience in foreign countries.  The international study program is connected with course BA 709: Global Financial Environment.  As part of this course, each cohort will visit an international destination in order to provide a historical, political, economic, and social/cultural overview of that particular region.

The international study program includes the following accommodations:

  • Hotel accommodations at a 4 or 5-star property (double occupancy; single occupancy supplement available at an additional cost)

  • Organization of 1-2 business site visits per day, including a presentation by management and tour facilities (if applicable)

  • Ground transfers for group activities and site visits

  • Coordination of educational activities with professors or  governmental representatives

  • Welcome dinner/cultural immersion

  • City tour or other cultural activity

  • Distribution prior to departure of materials related to business and the economic and political environment of the region

The international study program does not include:

  • Roundtrip airfare to/from the US to the international destination

  • Passport fees, entry/exit fees

  • Hotel incidentals

  •  Meals not previously outlined in the itinerary

 


The EMBA XXII cohort will be visiting Brazil for their international study program in May 2012.

The EMBA XX cohort visited Santiago, Chile in May 2010 for their international study program.
