Micro-Euro Peels

What is a Micro Euro peel?  A micro EURO peel is a micro dermabrasion technique.  It was developed in Europe about 8 years ago.  It was introduced in the US about 11/2 years ago.  It is FDA approved procedure.  This procedure is also referred to as a lunch hour peel, a power peel.  It is a procedure that is performed in our office.  It uses a ultra-fine crystal that is sprayed on the skin and removed by a gentle vacuum.  This crystal has a buffing or polishing effect that removes the surface layers of the skin, and since the layers are removed with the procedure there is no peeling after.  that is why it is sometimes called a lunch hour peel, you could have it done and return to work and no one would know you had it done.

What does it treat?  It treats a variety of skin conditions.  It can smooth out skin roughness, clean pores, reduce pigmentation, even skin tone, help reduce acne, smooth and reduce some scars, and leave your skin with a smooth glow.

What does it feel like?  The procedure is normally done without any need for anesthesia.  As the treatment wand is passed over the skin you will feel a rubbing, buffing, or sanding sensation.  This depends on the area being treated, and what condition is being treated..

What do I look like after?  Your skin will be pink or slightly red after, depending on your skin type and response.  A soothing gel and a sun block are applied after the procedure, and you may apply makeup after the procedure.

Is it safe for my skin? Yes it is safe for all skin types.  Darker skin types or patients with pigmentation problems will need to be cautious with sun exposure and be diligent users of sun blocks.

How many times does it need to be done? This depends on what is being treated.  Improvement of skin tone and texture can be felt within the first or second peel.  Deeper pigmentation or scars require more treatments and may require topical treatment as well.  This can only be determined by a consultation with our doctor.

What areas can be treated? The face is the most common area treated.  Although the technique is safe for other areas such as neck, chest, hands, arms, back, and legs.

How long does it take?  The average facial treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes.

How are treatments scheduled?  Treatments are usually anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks apart.  We try not to exceed 2 weeks especially if we are working on deeper conditions.  This is because the skin is constantly growing and replaces itself within a month, waiting longer than 2 weeks will keep the treatments superficial and reduce the treatment effectiveness.

What does it cost?  Our regular treatment is $125 per MICRO EURO peel.  Depending on the conditions we are treating, peel packages are offered.  They are available in packages of 4 peels for $399, 8 peels for $699,  and 12 peels for $950.

How do  you sign up?  You will receive a complimentary consultation with Dr. Nowak if you call for a appointment at (619) 420-1840.  Your peels can then be scheduled after that appointment.
