At SDSU, we offer a select number of quality distance learning courses and programs. We emphasize highly interactive online courses distributed through the Internet. We also offer compressed video (2-way video/audio) courses and televised courses on San Diego's local cable channels. SDSU offers courses that meet or exceed WASC guidelines for distance education.

On the Faculty page, faculty will find resources and links that range from creating a web site to developing an entire online course. Links to important issues connected to pedagogy, quality, evaluation, accessibility and copyright are provided. The Faculty page also has a link to Policies, for example, the SDSU Senate Distance Education Policy and the Curriculum Committee Checklist for Developing Distance Learning Courses, and many other useful links. In addition, we have articles published about distance learning, links to campus resources SDSU offers for distance learning, and links to faculty who are currently offering SDSU distance learning courses. Lastly, there is a Glossary to help you understand the vocabulary surrounding this new medium of teaching and learning.

There is also a Student page for current and prospective online students. Here you will find strategies to become better distance learners and take quizzes to determine your online learner success level. On this page there are links to support, library and financial aid services available on the SDSU campus for those enrolled in distance learning courses, certificates, or degree programs. Finally, be sure to check back often as we are constantly updating this site with new information about Distance Learning at SDSU.
