Jeffrey Davis received his B.S. degree in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his PhD degree in Physics from Cornell University. He has been a Professor of Physics at San Diego State University since 1977. He is the director of the Electro-optics Program. His research interests include spatial light modulators, programmable diffractive optical elements and holograms, image processing, and optical pattern recognition. Currently he has over 124 publications and many of these have BS or MS student co-authors. He is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and a Fellow of SPIE.
