Facilities Used By Aztec Rowing

As an active member on the SDSU Men's Crew Team, most of your daily training regiment will occur at one of the three facilities listed.

H. Del Beekley Boathouse

Built in 1964 as an addition to the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, the H. Del Beekley boathouse bears the name of the famous coxswain/coach that revived the team in the mid ‘40’s. Housing our shells and the location of the majority of our morning practices, our boathouse is part of the world’s largest instructional waterfront facility, and one of the few locations that promotes year round rowing on Mission Bay.

Aztec Recreation Center / Peterson Gym Weight Room

The Aztec Recreation Center is one of the only 24-hour college gymnasiums in the United States. The 76,000 square ft. facility provides Group Exercise classes, Cardio Equipment, and an 8,000 square ft. Free Weight Room used in conjunction with the adjacent Peterson Gym Weight Room by the rowers for their strength training needs.

Erg Room

The erg room houses some two dozen Concept2 indoor rowing machines shared by both the Women’s and Men’s Rowing teams. The room is located next to the courtyard across from the Student Alumni Association.
