Professor J. Angelo Corlett

 
 

Professor Corlett is a philosopher specializing in ethics and epistemology.  He writes on and teaches Philosophy of Law, Epistemology, Plato, Philosophy of Religion, and Ethics from an analytical approach. In regard to ethics, Professor Corlett specializes in Moral Philosophy, Social Philosophy, Political Philosophy and Legal Philosophy, inclusive of the following foci:

He is also Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Ethics: An International Philosophical Review© (Springer: 1997-present), as well as the editor of Equality and Liberty: Analyzing Rawls and Nozick (London: MacMillan, 1991).


Professor Corlett founded The Philosophy Laboratory© in which he supervises philosophical research with qualified graduate students for purposes of publication. He also founded Team Ethics©, a subsidiary unit of The Philosophy Laboratory© wherein he supervises and directs philosophical work on ethics-related topics. Having taught for more than a quarter of a century, he finds that teaching is an exciting learning experience not only because of what he learns and teaches but also because of the seemingly endless varieties of ways in which knowledge can be communicated to students.  For him, teaching never becomes boring! Ultimately, Professor Corlett teaches to make a positive difference in the lives of students and to provide them with the philosophical skills and temperament so that (as Socrates put it): they can be better for the rest of their lives.
