Faculty Advisors

Each student is assigned a full-time faculty member

  • to approve one's application to become a criminal justice major,
  • to advise the student regarding classes within the major,
  • to assist the student in completing and fulfilling the requirements of the Master Plan, and
  • to approve formally the student's Master Plan prior to graduation.

Questions pertaining to SDSU general education requirements or general graduation requirements should be addressed to an advisor at the University Advising Center (SS 2109). Questions about a specific course--e.g., internship or prisontour--should be addressed to the faculty member supervising that course.

The advisors are assigned on the basis of the student's last name, according to the following protocol:

DECLARING THE MAJOR (or PREMAJOR)

important: If you declare the major OR pre-major before the issuance of the 2002-2003 university catalog (approx. August 2002), then you fall under the old requirements for graduation, which include (among other things) the ability to apply the prison tour toward the "internship" requirement.
