Each city will begin with background briefings from U.S. commercial attaches, followed by site visits to a range of organizations. These visits may include organizations in the manufacturing, professional services, retail, food-processing, education, healthcare, and micro-finance sectors. Ho Chi Minh City will emphasize the rapidly growing SMEs and MNE outsourcing, while Hanoi will emphasize the transition of state-owned enterprises.

Summary: The 43rd Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) was held at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Space, January 5-8, 2010.  This year's proceedings consist of over 495 papers in ten major tracks.  Continuing as an exciting feature of the conference this year were several Symposia, Workshops, and Tutorials that created active discussions during the conference, with many interesting presentations from academic and corporate researchers.

2010 China: An Emerged Economic Powerhouse in the Global Economy

Summary: The program compares the dynamic growth of China’s two leading economic regions – the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta – and explores China’s transformation from a planned economy to a globally competitive market oriented economy. Faculty will meet with entrepreneurs, business executives, and government officials who make this growth happen and visit cultural sites, universities, and companies to develop a framework for the past and present.
