Thursday, October 26th 2006: Rami Khouri
Renowned Palestinian-Jordanian journalist, Rami Khouri of the Beirut-based Daily Star, the largest English language newspaper in the Middle East, spoke to an audience of 500 people on "The United States and the Middle East: A View from the Arab World." The lecture was cosponsored by the Fred J. Hansen Institute and the International Security and Conflict Resolution Program.

Thursday, December 5th 2006: Panel Presentation
Professors Michael Provence (UCSD), Babk Rahimi (UCSD), and David Yaghoubian (CSUSB) spoke to an audience of 200 people on "Iran, Iraq and Lebanon: Uncovering the Past and Understanding the Present." In their presentations, the panelists drew both on
their scholarly expertise and their recent visits to these countries. The panel presentation was the first cosponsored event between CIAS and UCSD's Middle East Program, and we look forward to many future collaborations.
