Internships

As part of their requirement for graduation from the program, students in the SDSU Sports MBA program are required to conduct an MBA consulting project with a sports organization.  These consulting internships are four to six months in duration, and are the culminating experience for the program after students complete an intensive, 12-month academic program.  MBA candidates may work at the organization of their choosing, even if it is not located in San Diego.  The consulting internship guidelines are:

  • The duration of the internship is a minimum of four (4) months.
  • Sports MBA candidate must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week.
  • Students will receive six (6) units of Academic Credit for the internship and submission of the required reports.
  • Companies are asked to monitor progress and provide an evaluation at the end of the term.
  • Students are required to complete a comprehensive project that evolves from their internship assignment. This completed report will be submitted to San Diego State University and presented to faculty adviser prior to graduation.
