About the Information and Decisions Systems department
IDS students develop a broad background of business knowledge in addition to studying systems analysis, data management, and the basics of modern computer technology. Information Systems majors take courses in the department, as well as in finance, marketing, and management. The purpose of an information system is to provide management with the information that is essential to decision-making, and to assist in interpreting that information.
