SDSU’s College of Business Administration Adds SAN DIEGO (July 6, 2009) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today that Scott Petry has joined the College’s board of directors. Petry is the founder of e-mail messaging service, Postini, which was purchased by Google in 2007. He currently serves as Google’s Product Management Director, Google Enterprise. Petry is also an SDSU alumnus (’86 marketing) and spent four years as an oarsman on the SDSU rowing team, after which he earned a bronze medal in the world championships as part of the U.S. national rowing team in 1987. In addition to his work with Google, Petry is an active investor in startup companies and he serves on the boards of Memeo, Conveneer, Drip Technologies, Sutro Vision and RAAW Fabrication. In addition, he is an advisor for several small start-up organizations. Petry recently discussed his business experience and philosophy during a classroom visit with a group of SDSU graduate students in April. ”Scott’s willingness to give back to SDSU and to small businesses has gone above and beyond the call of duty,” said Dr. Gail Naughton, dean of SDSU’s College of Business Administration. “His passion for business and entrepreneurial expertise will be a tremendous asset both to the College of Business Administration and the board.” “I look back at my time at SDSU with great fondness and it will be a pleasure to work with the board, the faculty and the administration to make a positive impact on the College and on the University,” said Petry.”I’m eager for the opportunity to work with the College as it continues to provide students with an outstanding business education and the community with an exceptional source of future business leaders.” Petry’s tenure on SDSU’s College of Business Administration’s board of directors became effective July 1.
