SDSU College of Business Names New Assistant Dean for Student Affairs

SAN DIEGO, Monday, December 12, 2005- San Diego State University’s (SDSU) College of Business Administration announced today that Sandra Williams has been named Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Williams replaces Pat Dintrone who is retiring after 24 years at SDSU.
Williams will be responsible for maintaining student advising and advocacy services, as well as other areas of student support. She will also serve as Director of the Business Advising Center and will be involved with impaction management and curriculum decisions.
“The College of Business Administration is extremely happy to have Sandra as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. She has held student service management positions at both the University of Kansas and UC-San Diego, and her wealth of knowledge and experience will be of great benefit to our students,” said Dean Gail Naughton.
Williams has worked as the Special Projects Manager for UC-San Diego Admission and Enrollment Services and was the Dean of Academic Advising for UC-San Diego’s Sixth College. She has also held the position of Assistant Dean for Student Services and Human Resources for the School of Business at the University of Kansas. Williams received her M.S. in Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with the College of Business and the Division of Student Affairs as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs,” Williams said. “It will be an exciting new year as we build together on the solid foundation of programs and services developed to assist students achieve their goals in academic programs and student clubs and organizations in the college and the university.”
