
	SDSU College of Business Administration Appoints Dr. Mehdi Salehizadeh as Chair of the Finance Department SAN DIEGO (June 16, 2008) – The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today the appointment of Dr. Mehdi Salehizadeh as chairman of the College’s finance department. Salehizadeh has been a professor of finance with SDSU’s College of Business Administration for the past 28 years. Salehizadeh will officially take over the chair position on August 25, which is the first day of SDSU’s 2008 fall semester. He replaces the current department chair, Dr. Nikhil Varaiya, who will continue with his position at the university as a professor with the finance department. Currently, Salehizadeh is chair of the College’s Graduate Committee and a member of the College Steering Committee. He is also the former chair of the University Promotions and Tenure Review Committee, has been a member of the SDSU senate, and has received numerous awards and recognitions as an outstanding faculty member. “Dr. Salehizadeh’s proven leadership and his commitment to College of Business Administration made him a perfect fit for the role of department chairman,” said Dr. Gail Naughton, dean of SDSU’s College of Business Administration. Salehizadeh earned his Ph.D.in international business, finance and international economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Salehizadeh has been a professor of finance with SDSU’s College of Business Administration for the past 28 years.
