SDSU College of Business Names New Associate Dean SAN DIEGO (March 29, 2010) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced the appointment of Dr. Gangaram Singh as the College’s new associate dean for academic affairs. Singh replaces the retiring Dr. Jim Lackritz and will assume his new role on July 1, 2010. As the associate dean for academic affairs, Singh’s responsibilities will include overseeing curriculum and faculty development; supervising academic processes and policies; formulating and managing student policies; and administering the College’s accreditation activities. Singh has been with the SDSU as a professor of management since 1999. During that time, he served as chairman of the College’s management department, director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), has taught in the Sports Management M.B.A. and the Executive M.B.A. programs, and has been the recipient of numerous awards, honors and grants. “Throughout his tenure with SDSU, Dr. Singh has clearly shown a passion for education and an unwavering dedication to his students, his research, and his role within the SDSU and the San Diego communities,” said Dr. Gail Naughton, dean of SDSU’s College of Business Administration. “I look forward to working with Dr. Singh as we continue to develop new and even more outstanding academic programs and educational processes.” Singh has served on numerous committees and programs at SDSU and was recently named to the city of San Diego’s Citizen Revenue Review and Economic Competitiveness Commission. He also sits on the marketing committee of the board of Sharp Hospital and has been deeply involved in founding several local cricket programs. Singh earned his Ph.D.in Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto in 1998.
