On Sunday, June 28, Andrew Monarch (’06, M.B.A. Entrepreneurship) was named the Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce during their second annual Celebration of Business event. The event, part of the group’s Achievements in Business Leadership Excellence (ABLE) awards, was held at Poway’s Mederas Golf Club.

Monarch operates two locations of his family’s upscale shoe business, Footwear Etc., which are located in San Diego’s Little Italy district and in Rancho Bernardo.
