Over 70 teams of students from universities across the U.S. competed in the Eighth Annual Deloitte Tax Case Study Competition, including one team of undergraduate and one team of graduate accounting students from SDSU.

Deloitte hosted a pre-competition dinner for the teams on October 16th to prepare them for the competition, which was held on Saturday, October 17th at one of 23 Deloitte offices throughout the county.

Teams consisting of four students each were given five hours to complete a case study that requires them to submit a solution to a case study. The solution must be based on the appropriate Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations.

A panel of judges from Deloitte Tax LLP will review and evaluate each submission. The students completed for $100,000 in scholarship and institutional awards.

Winners will be announced in early November.
