Nineteen teams from four states and two foreign countries participated in the 45th Annual International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition held April 16-18, 2009 at the Bahia Resort in San Diego. The SDSU team took top prize in the Outstanding Reports category and first runner-up for Outstanding Performance in their division at the competition.
The students prepared a strategic business plan and then submitted a series of quarterly business decisions simulating five business years. After arriving at the competition, the team made eight more quarterly decisions and prepared an Annual Report to submit to the judges at the event.
Professor Carol Venable advised the five member team, consisting of Matt Clifford (finance), Scott Fitzgerald (finance), Mark Gonzalez (finance), Denise Hogan (accounting), and Ashley Saccoccio (integrated marketing communications).
