Mu Sigma Consulting Adds Pazzaz to Their Community Service

MuSigma

When a group of five SDSU business students formed Mu Sigma Consulting two years ago, the goal was simple – provide non-profit organizations with free business consulting services in exchange for real-world financial/business experience.

And while the founders of Mu Sigma have since graduated, a new group of students have taken their place and the group has grown to 12 members.

Mu Sigma recently wrapped up its affiliation with its first client, Bayside Community Center, and recently began working with the Pazzaz Educational Center in the Webster area of San Diego during the fall semester of 2008.

Pazzaz’s staff and volunteers work primarily with low-income students, grades 1 -12 to tutor them in subjects in which they are either experiencing difficulty or may be failing. Tutors work with students to overcome learning obstacles and help to pave the way for greater parental involvement as well.

In working with Pazzaz, Mu Sigma members first helped the organization create a marketing packet that consisted of an updated newsletter and redesigned literature with information about Pazzaz’s services. Once that project is completed, Mu Sigma will review Pazzaz’s other business processes to determine their next phase of the project.

For more information on Mu Sigma, please contact them at musigmaconsulting@gmail.com.
