MBA Consulting Program in Full-Swing for Fall Semester

MBA

Now in its 13th year, the SDSU MBA Consulting Program has provided top rate consulting to a variety of local and national businesses, and this year is no exception. Kicking off the fall semester more than 90 students, clients and faculty met at the Mission Valley Hilton on September 11 to hold their first round-table meetings.

At the Kickoff, the 64 students comprising the MBA teams, along with 20 faculty co-advisors, met face to face with 16 clients to discuss the details of the project and decide duties, deliverables and deadlines. Companies served by this program include small, medium and large private corporations as well as non-profit organizations and municipalities. Some current and past clients include General Atomics, QUALCOMM, San Diego Zoo, Marine Corps Exchange at Miramar, Sea World, SAIC, NASSCO, Cubic Corporation, and San Diego Telecom Council.

MBA student consulting teams are matched with clients and projects based on the backgrounds, skills sets and interests of the students. Each team spends between 500-600 hours working for their client to complete the project. Projects typically include writing a business plan, preparing a feasibility study, designing and conducting market research, writing a marketing plan, or other projects based on the needs of the client.

For more information about the MBA Consulting program, contact the Manager of the Aztec Business Alliance, Bryan Lubic, at 619-594-2605 or blubic@mail.sdsu.edu or visit the Aztec Business Alliance website at http://aba.sdsu.edu.
