Dr. Murray Jennex (IDS) released his fourth book, Current Issues in Knowledge Management in which he acted as co-author and editor-in-chief.

Drs. James Beatty and Murray Jennex (IDS) with co-author Roy Segovia (M.S.B.A., IDS 2007)  recently learned that their paper, “, “Improving Trust in E-Government Using Paralingual Web Pages “ has been accepted to the International Journal of Electronic Government Research.  The paper was heavily based on Segovia’s research done for his Master’s Degree thesis.

A paper by Dr.  Lynn Shore (management) with T.H. Shore and W.H. Bommer titled “An integrated model of managerial perceptions of employee commitment: Antecedents and influences on employee treatment.” will be printed in the Journal of Organizational Behavior.

A paper by Dr. Karen Ehrhart (management) with T. Kono and T. Schulte titled “Examining implicit leadership theories in Japan and the U.S.” will be presented at the Academy of Management, Anaheim, California, August 8 – 13.

A paper by Dr. Lynn Shore (management) with M.A. Taylor, C. Goldberg and P. Lipka titled “The effects of retirement expectations and social support on post-retirement adjustment: A longitudinal analysis” will be published in the Journal of Managerial Psychology.

A paper by Drs. Lynn Shore, Beth Chung-Herrera, Michelle Dean, Karen Ehrhart, Don Jung, Amy Randel and Gangaram Singh (management) titled “Diversity and Inclusiveness: A Review and Research Agenda in symposium titled Diversity, Work Family, and Life Outcomes (Co-chairs Jeanette Cleveland and April M. Jones) will be presented at the Academy of Management, Anaheim, California, August 8 – 13.

A paper by Dr. Chamu Sundaramurthy (management) and Y. Kor titled “Experience-based Human Capital and Social Capital of Outside Directors” will be presented at the Atlanta Competitive Conference in June 2008.

A paper by Drs. Alex DeNoble, Gangaram Singh (management), B. Antoncic and T. Bratkovic titled “The big five personality factors, gender and entrepreneurship: Evidence from Slovenia” will be presented at the Academy of Management, Anaheim, California, August 8 – 13.

A paper by Dr. Amy Randel (management) and K. Jaussi titled “Gender social and personal identity, sex dissimilarity, relationship conflict and asymmetrical effects” will be published in Small Group Research.

A paper by Dr. Chamu Sundaramurthy (management) titled “Sustaining Trust within Family Businesses” was published in the March 2008 issue of Family Business Review.

A paper by Dr. Chamu Sundaramurthy (management) and G. Kreiner titled “Governing by Managing Identity Boundaries: The Case of Family Businesses” will be published in the May 2008 issue of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.

A paper by Drs. Chamu Sundaramurthy and Michelle Dean (management) titled “Family Business Openness to External Influence and International Sales: An Empirical Examination” will be published in Multinational Business Review.

A paper by Drs. Michelle Dean, Gangaram Singh (management) and E. Dannin titled “Law reform, collective bargaining, and the balance of power” will be published in Working U.S.A.: The Journal of Labor and Society.

A paper by Drs. Gangaram Singh (management), Chee Chow (Accountancy) and A. Wu titled “High Performance Work Organization: Evidence from the Taiwanese Manufacturing Industry” will be presented at the Academy of Management, Anaheim, California, August 8 – 13.

Dr. Lori Ryan (management) will serve as a panelist for a presentation titled “BB&T, Objectivism, and the Role of the Outside Donors in a University Curriculum” at the International Association for Business and Society in Tampere, Finland in June 2008.

Dr. Lori Ryan (management) will co-chair the fourth annual refereed workshop titled “Corporate Governance  Research IV” at the International Association for Business and Society in Tampere, Finland in June 2008.

A paper by Drs. Karen Ehrhart and Beth Chung-Herrera (management) titled “HRM at Your Service: Developing Effective HRM Systems in the Context of E-Service” was published in volume 37 of Organizational Dynamics (pages 75 – 85).

Dr. Jeffrey Glazer (management) has been elected to serve on the board of trustees for the University of Virginia’s Semester at Sea program, which allows participants the opportunity to attend classes during a 110-day voyage to 10-12 international destinations.

A paper by Dr. Chee Chow (accountancy) and Dr. Don Jung (management) with F. Chan and G. Chan titled “Chinese CEOs’ Leadership Styles and Firm Performance” will be published in the Journal of Asia Business Studies.
