SDSU Hosts Second Annual Sports MBA Case Competition Nov. 3-4

logoThe Sports Business Management MBA program and the San Diego Padres Baseball Club recently announced the second annual Sports MBA Case Competition scheduled for November 3-4, 2006.

Teams of four MBA students will be given 24 hours to research a multidisciplinary, sports business-themed case. Teams will then present their ideas to a panel of judges comprised of Padres front office executives, sports business professors, and other industry professionals.  The case will test skills developed in an MBA core curriculum and incorporate current sports business issues.

“This SDSU Sports Business MBA Case Competition is an exciting follow-up to the successful inaugural competition last February,” said San Diego Padres CEO Sandy Alderson. “This is a challenging new component to the Sports Business MBA Program at SDSU that allows students to address real sports world issues in a competitive setting. We are thrilled to be involved again in this new tradition of case competition,” Alderson added.
