Class Notes

Bill Dopp (’88, Management) and Mary Dopp (’94, Accounting) live in Melbourne, Australia with their children, Alexandria, John and Sabrina. Bill is a finance/IT director for Avery Dennison Corporation. Since graduating, Dopp has held three overseas job assignments and has conducted business in over 15 countries.

Randall (Randy) Moore (MBA, ‘03) continues Active Duty service in the U.S. Navy serving as the Senior Supply Officer on USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD-6), a WASP Class Assault Helicopter Carrier home ported in San Diego. His team completed their most recent deployment in June 2005 where they participated in Tsunami relief efforts in Indonesia and the Global War on Terrorism. Moore was recently selected for promotion to the next rank of Captain (06), which will take effect in May 2006.

On September 26, Gordon Glazer (Marketing, ‘81) was recognized as a Certified Mail and Distribution Systems Manager (CMDSM) by the Mail Systems Management Association (MSMA). Gordon, who is President of San Diego Postal & Shipping Equipment in Poway, joins the ranks of over 330 other professionals nationally who have completed the requirements for this prestigious award.  After an evaluation by peers and a written examination consisting of all aspects of technical expertise, mail and distribution systems knowledge, financial and general management skills, a qualifying individual is ‘certified’ as being an accredited professional.  Persons qualifying for the CMDSM designation are also required to sign a ten point Professional Code of Ethics.  The professional code of ethics covers responsibilities as well as continuing proficiency and effectiveness in the mailing profession.

Bill Nethercott (Finance,’82) is President and CEO of Tri-Valley Bank in Livermore, CA. After 23 year in commercial banking, he joined a small group of potential investors/board members for the purpose of forming a new independent bank in the cities of San Ramon and Livermore. After obtaining regulatory approval to open the bank, Nethercott, along with the group, obtained subject approvals in March 2005. They raised $18.5 million in capital, having to return approximately $1 million, and opened the doors in both locations in August 2006 with $17.5 million in capital and 450 shareholders.

Paul Anthony Forte (Accounting, ’89) is Director of Finance for Calvin Klein Studio. Klein asked Forte to come to work for him in December 2002 to handle all of his personal financial affairs. They have offices in Los Angeles and New York.

Capt. Timothy Mungie (Management, ’97) battery commander for Alpha Battery, 2-11th FA, was selected to receive the prestigious 2005 General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award, which is intended to recognize outstanding leadership contributions in the Army’s field environment. Mungie was commissioned as a field artillery officer in June 1997 after graduating, and has since worked in Oklahoma, Hawaii and served in Iraq.

Jeanine Naviaux (Finance, ’90) is President of On The Inside Design. An interior decorator, her house was filmed this April for a new series on Home & Garden Television Network (HGTV) called “What’s With This House.” She organized the First Annual “Bird Rock Tour of Homes” in January 2006 with the net proceeds to build a handicapped access gate in a neighborhood park. She raised $11,000 in sponsorships, $5,100 in ticket sales, and Décor & Style Magazine gave them 12 pages in their January 2006 issue to showcase the five homes on the tour.

Jeff Muscat (Marketing, ’88) is Regional Sales Manger for Bosch Rexroth Corporation. After working for Rexroth since 2000, he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager in 2002 when the company bought Bosch. He covers nine Western states and has seven regional district managers reporting to him with a sales achievement in 2005 of $21 million worth of linear motion (ball screws, linear bearings/precision stages) and assembly technologies (conveyors, aluminum framing and workstations).

Craig T. Stevens (Finance, ’82) is Founder and CEO of Mar West Real Estate. Mar West consults/assists commercial property developers with the formation and management of Commercial Property Owners Associations (CPOA’s) for new office, industrial, commercial condominium and conversion projects throughout California. Encompassing more than 15 million sq. ft. of buildings, they have begun expansion into Arizona and Nevada. The firm works with notable developers such as LNR Property Corp., The Koll Company, Panattoni, Opus West, Davis-Partners, Bacchus Development, Master Development and others. Prior to forming Mar West, Stevens was a Senior Managing Director for CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), where roles included National Account Management with five real estate pension fund advisors ($20 billion under management) and head of global e-business. Prior to CBRE he helped Fidelity National Financial’s 1031 Exchange Intermediary subsidiary into the nations largest and most respected 1031 Qualified Intermediary firm.

Jeffrey Charfaurfos (Finance, ’95) is working in real estate development from Hagatna, Guam. He started doing house flips three years ago and is now doing new development projects.

Ginger Thelen (IDS, ‘02) has received an offer for a management position as a small defense contractor in San Diego. While this will be her first management position, she will be learning from a team of mangers who have many years of experience, and she couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity.
