CBA Board welcomes new members, chair

A new chair and four new members have joined the CBA Board of Directors, which met on May 3.

Duane Roth, San Diego business and civic leader, is the new chairman, replacing Ron Kendrick, ’64 Economics, ’75 MBA, executive vice president of Union Bank of California. Kendrick has served as the College of Business board chair since its inception in 2000. Roth is chairman and chief executive officer of Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp., which is based in San Diego.

New members include:

 

Linda Lang, ’91 MBA, president and chief operating officer of Jack in the Box Inc. She also serves on the board of The Jack in the Box Foundation, a non-profit organization that directs the company's charitable donations.

 

Enrique Mier y Teran, co-founder of Mexico’s first maquiladora and currently chairman and CEO of SafeMex, Inc., a company that provides emergency travel assistance throughout Mexico to foreign visitors.

 

Victor Mitchell, ’88 finance, CEO and chairman of Ricochet Networks, Inc., of Denver, Col., a high-speed wireless Internet services company.

 

Brent Wilkes, ’77 accounting, president of the Wilkes Corporation, which provides leadership, knowledge and personnel for the technology and defense related industries.

The College of Business Board of Directors provides expertise, oversight and advocacy to help the college reach its strategic goals and increase corporate and philanthropic giving.
