Stephen Coslik, chairman and CEO of The Woodmont Company.

In late September, the CBA announced that its Real Estate Program is the recipient of a $50,000 donation from Stephen and Michelle Coslik. Stephen is an SDSU alumnus and chairman and CEO of The Woodmont Company in Fort Worth, Texas. The Woodmont Company is a commercial real estate development, brokerage, investment, management, and construction management firm.

“This gift will go toward helping us attract and retain some of the best teaching talent in our real estate program,” said Dean Gail Naughton. “Stephen is a great example of a successful alum who gives back to his alma mater to help future generations. He and his wife, Michelle, have given generously to the college throughout the years.”

Coslik received his B.S. in Finance in 1971 and currently serves on the College of Business Administration Advisory Board and Real Estate Advisory Board. He has served as president of The Woodmont Company since the firm was founded in 1980. For 25 years, Coslik helped oversee the company’s growth into a nationwide real estate services firm, while handling acquisition, negotiation and development of 11.6 million square feet of retail, office and industrial space.

“SDSU College of Business Administration offers the only comprehensive undergraduate real estate degree program in Southern California. I am proud to be a partner with the college and other real estate leaders in the strategic growth of this program, which centers around the attraction and retention of additional outstanding real estate faculty,” Coslik said. “It is our intention to give the college the extra resources it needs to continue providing a quality education to future real estate professionals.”

For more than 40 years, SDSU has been educating students in a program that includes Southern California’s only comprehensive undergraduate real estate degree. The vision is to create a ready-day-one program for students who aspire to become leaders within the industry. This includes: 1) a restructured curriculum to prepare students for today’s and tomorrow’s employment opportunities; and 2) an expanded research component that analyzes emerging trends and provides thoughtful leadership on real estate matters of community importance.

Several corporate partners have made substantial contributions recently to the real estate program bringing the total gifts since November 2004 to over $1.8 million. Contributors include The Corky McMillin Companies, Grubb & Ellis/BRE Commercial, the Warwick family and Barratt American, Inc.

The Woodmont Company specializes in the development, brokerage, investment, management, and construction management of commercial real estate. During the past 25 years, Woodmont has progressed from a one person commercial brokerage firm to a sophisticated network, employing over 100 professionals representing clients coast to coast while developing and managing properties throughout the nation. Woodmont has established an outstanding reputation in every phase of the real estate profession through the collective efforts of its affiliate companies.
