SDSU Launches Family and Closely Held Business Forum April 28

The Entrepreneurial Management Center (EMC) at San Diego State University will hold a forum on “Critical Issues Facing Closely Held and Family Businesses” Wednesday, April 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the La Jolla Hilton Torrey Pines.

The event kicks off the EMC’s new Closely Held and Family Business Forum for those businesses looking to enhance their business skills and share experiences with others.

Keynote speaker for the event will be Dirk Jungé of Pitcairn Trust Company. Panelists will include Charles Buck of Buck Knives, Malin Burnham of The Burnham Companies, Jenifer Lang of Interface Displays & Controls, Inc., Matt Reno of Reno Contracting, Inc., and Charles Wax of Waxie.

The event’s main sponsors include Union Bank of California, 1st Pacific Bank of California, Procopio Cory, Ernst & Young, Lockton Insurance, Comerica Bank, ProFinance Associates, Inc., and Merrill Lynch. Institutional sponsors include East County EDC, San Diego North EDC, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Administration, and South County EDC.
