Director of Research for the Real Estate and Land Use Institute Roger Brown has written an investment text titled, "Private Real Estate Investment Data Analysis and Decision Making" to be published in late January by Elsevier. Brown said, "The private real estate market is understudied, mostly because data has been non-existent for most of the time academic real estate has been around. Also, there are no formal risk models to cover that area. Academic real estate is dominated by finance models which represent a poor fit for the sort of risk the private real estate investor faces.”
